Most stories and books written about the Haitian Revolution mainly focus on the men that fought in that war and almost never mention the valuable contributions of women during that period. Women played major roles in the fight against the invasion of Ayiti by European slavers since the late 15th century all the way up to the creation of the First Independent Afrikan nation in the Western Hemisphere in 1804. With the historical record set straight, there can be no argument that there would not have been a Haitian Revolution without the participation of the heroines that fought, supported, and fully engaged in liberation of Afrikan people. This book vividly profiles some of these women and how they left their mark as one of the Sheroes of the Haitian Revolution.
