Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin (formerly known as H. Rap Brown) is currently a political prisoner and was the chairman of the radical Black Power organization Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). This autobiography is a vitally important document that is essential to understanding anti-Blackness in the United States. It details the various aspects of life for colonized Africans in the United States and can be used as a cross reference to put the experiences of colonized Africans all over the world into a single framework which will inform our international struggle against colonialism and neocolonialism.
