Bayyinah Bello is a historian, teacher, and writer from Haiti (Ayiti). In this two part video she analyzes the Ayitian revolution from an African perspective and places the revolution within the context of Vodoun principles. People have been propagandized into avoiding and demonizing Vodoun, however, Vodoun is an African spiritual system derived from the Yoruba, Ifá spiritual system. Sister Bayyinah helps us understand the importance of using Vodoun principles to understand who we are as individuals and how we can decipher the best ways to offer our personal strengths to further the collective.
