The terms and concepts Franz Fanon uses in The Wretched of the Earth are often uncommon and underutilized in everyday organizing. As a result, many people have difficulty fully understanding his analysis and instructions for decolonization struggles. Unfortunately, we are taught to discuss oppression and injustice as a “color” or “race” problem as opposed to understanding the basics of colonialism and imperialism, not only, in Africa and Asia, but internally in the Americas and Europe. This book serves as a Rosetta Stone and essential companion to gain clarity on The Wretched of the Earth.
