Akala – Old Soul

Wonderful track from The Thieves Banquet. Akala always makes it clear that soul, reggae, hip hop, and other musical expressions from Black people represent our historical origins in Africa. It is very important that he makes this point in many of his songs because it gives African people all over the world a base on the continent. Furthermore, this politically decolonizes our cultural expressions and accurately places the creators of these art forms where they originated.
